"People will only do a good job if they are getting paid well"
If we want society to improve, we have to stop tying income to work- or at the very least give people an option to not have their income tied to work. Surviving in this day and age means making an income. Being paid for work has a huge negative impact in quality of work for many fields other than charity. STEM, advertising, journalism, content creation- art, film and television, writing, etc. We need to have a system where people can get their needs met so they can have the freedom to do and create without being dampered by money.
The negative impact:
It kills the energy of the work. It's no longer coming from a place of passion.
Money from employers often feels like a bribe, and it dampens the ability to speak and work freely.
I love work but with all my soul I despise getting paid. It kills the mood, it feels like a bribe, money feels dirty, it is participating in an unsustainable system. We need to live in a society where workers have their needs met, have the ability to choose their work, and hold sufficient power to protect themselves from exploitation, so people such as myself can work without getting paid.
