The goal of capitalism is profit, but abuse is why we're poor.

CONTENT WARNING: abuse, and a graphic quote

The problem with current economic models is that suffering is the goal. The purpose is to be dysfunctional. Think about it- with our current model, most companies would have exponentially greater profits if workers were treated right and people who go above and beyond weren't reprimanded into mediocrity. It's not just corporations, it's everything. The enforcement of human rights and sincere justice have a direct correlation with wealth in communities and nations.

Trying to change suffering caused by our systems using logic is like going up to an abuser and saying "Hey, if you stop beating your kid they'll do better in school and you'll have less hospital bills." The goal was never for their kid to succeed.

Abuse might seem like a hopeless thing to solve, but look at the progress Generation Z has made in this area. It's mind blowing because it's not just a small movement, it's an entire age range of people choosing to be better. As a society we've failed Generation Alpha. Educating them on technological skills was prioritized over social skills and many lost or have never experienced basic support during critical developmental years due to unstable socioeconomic conditions and pandemic restrictions. This societal failure was noticed by teachers as early as 2018 based on rising behavioral issues. If we can recreate similar conditions as what Gen Z had then maybe things can be turned around for the future. We know it's not impossible.
